Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Academic Tutor to support students in their learning journey. This role involves providing personalized academic assistance, fostering a positive educational environment, and helping students develop essential skills across various subjects. Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in core subjects such as math, reading, science, and writing.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and learning styles.
- Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance instruction and student engagement.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Support students with homework assignments and reinforce classroom instruction.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
- Incorporate curriculum development best practices to ensure comprehensive coverage of educational standards.
- Foster confidence and motivation in students through encouragement and constructive feedback.
Experience
- Prior experience tutoring or teaching children(ESL) in an academic setting is highly preferred.
- Experience with classroom management, lesson planning, and curriculum development is desirable.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools used for instructional purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, and educators effectively. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about education who want to contribute positively to students' academic growth while developing their teaching skills in a supportive environment.
Must have the following availability: Monday: 4:00pm-6:00pm; Friday 3:30pm-5:30pm; Saturday: 2:00pm-5:00pm
