Job Summary

Job Summary

The Spanish Language Arts Teacher at MLC’s Middle School Campus teaches coursework fully in Spanish to deepen the literacy of students coming from our dual language elementary program. Teachers in this role will see students in grades 6-8 and focus teaching on reading and writing in Spanish that builds upon students’ prior knowledge and skill and elevates comprehension, analysis and communication in Spanish. Teachers at MLC are responsible for fulfilling the goals and objectives of MLC’s educational program as described in its charter. This includes preparing and implementing lessons that are engaging and integrated across subject matter, designing a standards-based curriculum in two languages, effectively managing the classroom and student behaviors, and assessing and evaluating student outcomes to target growth. Teachers at MLC commit to professional growth and development and participate fully in opportunities for professional development to improve practice and meet school-wide goals. Teachers must be committed to preserving the mission, vision, and educational philosophy of the school. This includes collaborating with the school community to maintain a positive learning environment promoting values such as respect, safety, mutual support, motivation, and personal growth.
