Skills Counselor (Bilingual-Social Services)

Multicultural Counseling Center (MCC) is hiring for the position of:

MCC is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Skills Counselor to join our team. Skills Counselors are responsible for assisting therapists to implement behavior reduction and help clients develop skills for to reach their treatment goals. The candidate will assist clients with therapeutic activities, behavior interventions (CBT, DBT and ACT), record and collect data on client's progress, and communicate with clients. Other duties may include clerical and administrative duties.

To be successful in this role, you will display a compassionate nature, empathy, and discretion in your work. You should have excellent communication and time management skills, and be able to develop and maintain relationships with clients, supervisors, and colleagues. Prior experience in a behavioral health and mental health setting is advantageous.

Skills Counselors Responsibilities

· Provide direct care to clients in a one-on-one or group therapy setting to implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction treatments as directed by the supervisor.

· Collect and record data on patient behavior.

· Collaborate, communicate, and assist with the training of clients, parents, and staff.

· Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients and family.

· Carry out clinical assessments and other administrative duties.

· Maintain strict confidentiality.

· Attend training to acquire further knowledge.

(SSW required within 6 months of employment, if hired and do not have SSW)

Position Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree or higher or SSW Licensure.

· Must have at least 1 year of social work or Behavioral health experience

· Good written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills.

· Willingness to work evening flex shifts.

· Computer skills.

· Bilingual (Spanish) -FLUENT IN SPANISH

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
