Enrichment Activity Instructors- After School Programs

21st Century Community Learning Centers- Grant Funded Positions

After School hours (typically 2-2.5 hrs/day)- Varied hours and days, depending on school assignments

$18.50 per hour/$19.00 for returning staff


General Overview

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) After School Programs aim to raise student achievement in math and literacy, improve academic performance, strengthen social relationships, and provide meaningful enrichment opportunities for students.

The Enrichment Activity Instructor (EAI) plays a key role in this effort by planning and leading high-quality enrichment lessons aligned with the 21st CCLC goals. EAIs report directly to the 21st CCLC Site Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Passion for sharing skills and interests with elementary and/or middle school students
  • Experience working with school-age youth
  • Ability to design and lead engaging enrichment activities
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to regular email correspondence
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families
  • Experience with classroom and behavior management
  • Bilingual skills valued but not required
  • Experience supporting culturally and linguistically diverse, low-income students preferred
  • Commitment to upholding student privacy and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with online platforms (Google Suite, Canvas, Zoom) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and lead hands-on enrichment activities for elementary and/or middle school students
  • Create lesson plans that incorporate project-based or experiential learning, aligned with PQA (Program Quality Assessment) standards
  • Submit lesson plans in advance, including learning goals and supply needs
  • Collaborate with the Site Coordinator to promote activities and recruit student participants
  • Track student attendance and manage classroom behavior
  • Maintain a clean and organized learning space
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including occasional sessions outside regular hours
  • Engage in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process by reflecting on program data and incorporating feedback to improve instruction and student outcomes
