We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Safety Specialist to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all employees. This role is responsible for implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing claims, and overseeing fleet safety and compliance programs.

Responsibilities

- Lead programs aimed at reducing workplace incidents through training, job safety analysis, and innovative solutions
- Conduct regular facility and job site inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions
- Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures
- Track and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and drive accountability
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensure driver logs are completed accurately and on time
- Train drivers in proper use of electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Investigate, track, and report all vehicle accidents and claims
- Maintain driver qualification files and ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3–5 years of safety experience required; DOT experience preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, transportation, or construction environments preferred
- Familiarity with ELD systems preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
