We are seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Human Resources Specialist to support a wide range of HR functions. This role plays a key part in recruiting, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, and training initiatives.
You will work closely with local teams as well as our corporate office in Omaha, NE to ensure consistent HR practices and support operational success across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Review applications and coordinate interviews with leadership
- Manage onboarding processes, including paperwork, drug screenings, DOT physicals, and background checks
- Support EEO and/or Affirmative Action reporting requirements
- Communicate and enforce company drug and alcohol policies
- Conduct annual reviews and updates of driver files to ensure DOT compliance
- Coordinate benefit enrollment, distribute annual information, and confirm employee participation
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits
- Coordinate company events including annual kick-off meetings, year-end events, and employee appreciation activities
- Provide guidance to management on company policies, compliance, and employment laws
- Lead employee retention initiatives and support positive employee relations
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of relevant HR experience
- Experience with DOT driver compliance requirements preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
