About the Role
The Veterinary Assistant will play a key role in both client communication and patient care. This position involves working closely with veterinarians and technicians to gather patient histories, assist with treatments and procedures, and help maintain a clean, efficient, and organized hospital environment.
Responsibilities
- Obtain thorough and accurate patient histories from clients
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, procedures, and treatments
- Safely restrain dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Administer injections (IV, IM, SQ) as directed
- Run in-house lab work and assist with digital radiographs
- Maintain inventory and restock supplies as needed
- Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for hospitalized patients
- Educate and communicate effectively with clients regarding basic pet care and treatment plans
- Accurately enter information and manage records in veterinary software (knowledge of Shepherd a plus!)

- Experience preferred, but entry-level candidates and current veterinary technician students are encouraged to apply!
