Join our team at our Muenster Pet Freeze-Dry production facility, where we operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to produce high-quality pet food products. We are seeking a dependable Quality Control (QC) Technician team member to help ensure our products meet food safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position is based primarily in our Meat Room, a refrigerated production area maintained between 25–28°F. Team members may also work in the Cold Dock (15°F) and occasionally enter the Blast Freezer (-10°F). Candidates must be comfortable working in cold environments for extended periods while following all food safety, quality, and PPE requirements.

Summary and Objective:
As a Quality Control Technician, you are responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. You will also monitor production processes, maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality improvement. To ensure success as a Quality Technician, you should have a strong working knowledge of process concepts, excellent visual awareness, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. You will be on the floor at least 50% of the time.
Pay Range: $20 - $24 DOE
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspection (visual, organoleptic) of incoming raw materials, ingredients, and packaging to determine acceptability to established standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collection of raw material, work in process, and finished goods for evaluation against key quality and food safety attributes.
- Prepare and analyze raw material, in-process, and finished product samples per standardized procedures to ensure product consistency, safety, and quality standards. These tests may include but are not limited to Fat, Moisture, Protein, Ash, Fiber, pH, Water Activity. Enter test data into lab / operations system(s).
- Evaluate test data against specification and determine and execute follow-ups as needed
- Conduct sanitation audits: Inspection and testing of equipment to validate cleaning effectiveness (Visual, ATP, environmental swabbing). Engagement with operations to correct short-term issues and participate in root cause problem-solving where needed.
- Monitor CCPs and QCPs in accordance with plant SOPs and Food Safety Plan. Responsible to take corrective actions with urgency and report issues to Director FSQA and Operations Manager.
- Perform verification and validation activities as outlined in facilities Food Safety Plan
- Conduct routine monitoring of the production process. Develop and maintain inspection reports. Troubleshoot systems, equipment and processes.
- Execute raw material and finished goods hold/release program as needed. Place nonconforming product on hold, assure segregation as needed, complete documentation, and alert plant management accordingly.
- Participate in preparation for GFSI, customer, and regulatory audits. Including but not limited to: internal auditing, creation, and update of SOP’s & work instructions.
- Participate in customer complaint investigations as needed.
- Prepare and execute shipment of samples to outside laboratories and/or customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Experience and Education:
- Minimum of 3 years of food quality experience
- Must have food manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of GMP Required
- High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
- Organizational skills

- Adhere to SQF, FSMA, Sanitation, GMP’s and HACCP requirements.
- Follow the Company’s procedures and processes for food safety and worker safety.
Work Location / Travel:
The position is based full-time in assigned production facility in Denton, TX (Masch Branch & 380).
Once the right candidate is identified, we will ask for you to complete your training period through our preferred temporary agency for a minimum of 2 months.
