SENIOR PLANT ACCOUNTANT / ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

Mueller Industries - Industrial Metals Group is seeking an experienced SENIOR PLANT ACCOUNTANT / ASSISTANT CONTROLLER to join our team. This key position will help direct the financial activities of the organization utilizing their manufacturing accounting experience. Job Responsibilities: Properly account for expenses in applicable period(s), as well as, preparing month end journal entries Prepare flash/forecast profit and loss statements for the respective business units Monitor monthly Plant Inventory levels and reconciles perpetual inventory accounts to the General Ledger accounts Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations for Balance Sheet reviews Evaluate plant accounting and internal control systems Establish and/or recommends to management any major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing any new processes Prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earning based on past, present, and expected operations Direct preparation of annual budgets, review of budget proposals, and preparation of necessary supporting documentation and justification Prepare variance reporting, reconciliation, and explanation of manufacturing variances Develop standard costs and update annually. Assist with external and internal audits of company accounts Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies About Us: Mueller Brass Co. is a world-class producer of wrought brass rod and bars in a variety of standard and lead-free alloys for machining, thread rolling, and forging applications.
