Summary Overview
The Assistant Warehouse Manager works alongside the Facility Warehouse Manager to ensure operational excellence, and the execution of various tasks set forth to maintain high performance of the warehouse storage and shipment processes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership:

• Manage warehouse associates, monitor work and ensure the safe use of warehouse equipment
• Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
• Train and supervise warehouse personnel
• Assist employees on the warehouse floor to ensure productivity goals are met
• Proven to be responsible and dependable
• Ability to always maintain a professional attitude towards personnel staff

Employee Engagement:

• Ability to motivate staff to drive results and measure accountability through progressive disciplinary action
• Ensure the safety of staff by leading daily safety meetings and ensure employees follow Safety and SOP Procedures
• Train new employees on how to use machinery and monitor compliance with safety standards

Process, Policy, & Procedure:

• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
• Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment
• Maintain documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities not limited to truck maintenance, facility inspections, DOT driver logs and equipment maintenance
• Maintain accurate inventory records

• Ability to manage staff including the capability to set goals, motivate and manage conflict
• Good project management skills, including strong decision-making, multitasking, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities
• Great interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening

• Identify and execute productivity improvement opportunities to help facility meet annual operating plan

Role Requirements

• This role requires regular presence on the warehouse floor including regular use of the Forklift machine
• Manage the receiving and delivery of materials/finished products in a timely manner
• Assist Facility manager in meeting productivity goals for a seamless execution of daily operations
• Physical strength, stamina, and the ability to occasionally lift and/or move moderate-heavy (up to 70lbs) materials, climb, walk, or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professional composure
• Forklift Experience and ability to operate vehicle safely and effectively
• Moderate to good computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Office, Google Maps, etc.)
• Available to work extended hours
• High school Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as assistant warehouse manager or supervisor
• Background in Plumbing and/or HVAC - preferred
• High School Diploma – required
• Forklift Certified - preferred
• College Degree – preferred
