Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic financial team. Duties

  • Prepare, review, and interpret complex financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct detailed account reconciliations, including general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Perform journal entries, accrual accounting adjustments, and double entry bookkeeping to maintain precise financial records.
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax laws and reporting standards.
  • Lead internal audits and assist external auditors during financial audits to verify compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) regulations and other standards.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow analyses, and regulatory reports for internal use and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct budget forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling to support strategic planning initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations by managing tax filings and supporting tax planning activities.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all accounting procedures, policies, and controls to support transparency and regulatory compliance.
  • Mentor junior staff members by providing guidance on technical accounting issues such as securities law implications, governmental accounting standards, or non-profit accounting practices.
  • Stay current with evolving accounting software tools like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Excel, Quicken, and other relevant financial management systems.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX compliance requirements, and regulatory reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Excel (advanced functions), Quicken, and other financial management tools.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance concepts including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial statement interpretation.
  • Experience with specialized areas such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), non-profit accounting practices, governmental accounting standards, securities law considerations, private equity transactions, wills/trusts & estate law related to estate planning.
  • Demonstrated ability in technical accounting tasks including journal entries creation; account reconciliation; accruals; double entry bookkeeping; balance sheet reconciliation; account analysis; general ledger management; regulatory reporting; audit coordination; tax experience; payroll processing; accounts payable/receivable management.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately while communicating findings clearly through written reports.
  • Strong mentoring capabilities to develop junior team members’ technical skills in areas such as public accounting practices or specialized industry regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail necessary for precise financial report writing and interpretation.
