The accountant is responsible for managing the financial activities of a nonprofit organization, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with applicable regulations and funding requirements. This role includes maintaining financial records, preparing budgets and financial reports, monitoring grants and supporting audits. The accountant ensures that all financial practices align with nonprofit accounting standards and helps leadership make informed financial decisions that support the organization’s mission.
Position Title: Accountant
Position Type: Full-Time with Benefits, 35 Hours per week

Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements
- Reconciliation of Rep Payee accounts
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account analysis of general ledger accounts
- Maintain billing spreadsheets of contracted funding sources
- Prepare and maintain accounts payable
- Reconcile all bank accounts on a monthly basis
- Cross train in key finance functions such as payroll and billing
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Related field
- 1-3 Years of accounting experience. Non-Profit or Healthcare experience a plus
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g. MS Great plains or similar)
- Strong written and verbal skills.
