Location: Madison, NC (Temporary flexibility between locations will be required during the first few months as our childcare program transitions to its permanent home. After the transition, this position will be based at one permanent location.)

Business Hours: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Work Schedule: Schedules will vary based on the needs of the childcare program. Applicants should be flexible and available to work shifts scheduled within our operating hours of 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

About Us

Muddy Pups LLC is a private, employer-sponsored childcare program created exclusively for the children and grandchildren of Muddy Dog Veterinary Hospital employees. Our childcare program is not open to the public and is offered as a benefit to eligible employees.

Because our families work at Muddy Dog Veterinary Hospital, parents and caregivers are on-site throughout the day, creating a unique partnership between our childcare team and families. Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, engaging environment where children can learn, play, and grow while their parents care for the pets in our community.

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Assistant Child Care Provider to join our growing team and work alongside our Lead Child Care Provider in caring for children ranging from infants through school-age.

This position requires someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, is eager to engage in play-based learning, and is committed to creating a warm, loving, and positive environment each day.

During the first few months, flexibility in work location will be required as our childcare program transitions to its permanent home. Once complete, this position will be based at a single location.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for children.
• Supervise and care for children from infancy through school age.
• Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities including crafts, sensory play, reading, music, outdoor play, and educational experiences.
• Encourage children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through positive interactions.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, bottle preparation, and other daily care routines.
• Support nap and rest times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary childcare environment.
• Communicate professionally and positively with parents and caregivers.
• Follow all Muddy Pups LLC policies and North Carolina childcare regulations.
• Work collaboratively with the Lead Child Care Provider to create a welcoming environment where every child feels safe, loved, and valued.

Qualifications

• Experience working with infants and/or young children is preferred.
• A genuine love for children and a patient, nurturing attitude are essential.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced childcare environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to complete all required background checks and state-mandated training.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
