Job Responsibilities:
As Lab Assistant, you will be responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, materials management, and facility coordination to ensure efficient and compliant lab functioning.
Key duties include:
- Manage procurement of lab supplies, including preparing order requests and obtaining vendor quotes
- Track orders and maintain accurate purchasing records
- Receive, inspect, log, and properly store all incoming materials
- Coordinate product returns and resolve delivery issues
- Verify deliveries and maintain proper documentation
- Schedule and coordinate vendor visits for equipment calibration, maintenance, and repairs
- Plan and track routine preventive maintenance for lab equipment
- Communicate service schedules to minimize disruption to lab operations
- Maintain clean and organized lab spaces, including benches and work areas
- Monitor and update chemical inventory records
- Manage regulatory documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Certificates of Analysis (COA)
- Perform routine cleaning and organization of freezers and refrigerators
Compensation/Core Hours: $25 per hour from 9am-3pm Mon-Fri (Averaging 25-30 hours per week)
Qualifications: No scientific background is required for this position!
- Technical Skills: Basic inventory management, laboratory operations (routine lab maintenance; handling of reagents, consumables, and supplies), regulatory compliance (collecting SDS/COA), equipment & facilities (scheduling and coordinating), logistics & shipping, and other laboratory assistance. Industrial safety training (e.g., OSHA, shipping, hazardous waste & disposal) preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills required.
- Other: Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment is essential. Must be a creative and detail-oriented individual, who is able to multi-task, can lift up to 25lbs and precisely follow instructions.
- Education: Minimum high school diploma with 1-2 years’ experience
