Under supervision, performs semi-skilled and skilled work in the janitorial general maintenance of buildings, facilities and equipment. And performs other related duties as assigned. This class is the journey-level position in the Support Services series. Positions at this level work with minimal supervision and perform skilled tasks.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

- Funeral Support- set up facilities for culturally appropriate services.
- Event support-deliver table and chairs, garbage cans, tent set up, stage set up for large tribal government events
- Performs manual labor and uses various types of hand and small power tools such as hammers, saws, drills. Performs minor adjustments and repairs to such equipment.
- Sweep and clean facility perimeters.
- Maintains daily logs and completes work requests on assignments.
- Identifies supply needs.
- Strip, wax and scrub various types of floors; vacuum and extract dirt from carpets; machine buff floors; dust, wash and vacuum surfaces.
- Performing equipment maintenance and repairs;
- Mix and use cleaning solutions and chemicals following directions recommended by product manufactures.
- Move, stock and loads and unloads materials, equipment and supplies.
- Drive pickup trucks, automobiles and other small, motorized vehicles in connection with manual work activities. Performs minor repairs or adjustments, lubrication and safety checks on mechanical and cleaning equipment.
- Assist in room set-ups, moving and arranging furniture, office relocations, and setting-up and removing chairs, tables, room dividers, etc.
- Perform special cleaning and special event duties as required; work varying shifts.
- Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Two (2) years janitorial experience; OR any combination of education and experience which would provide the required knowledge and skills and allows successful performance on the job.
