JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Surveillance Technician performs advanced technical work analyzing, maintaining, and repairing servers, networking, and camera systems that monitor gaming operations. Mentors Surveillance Technician(s), manages complex system projects, and ensures high reliability of TGA surveillance systems while maintaining compliance with gaming regulations.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of servers, RAIDS, switches, and CCTV equipment.
  • Configures and optimizes network systems, IP assignments and permissions.
  • Performs complex installations and upgrades of surveillance hardware and software across Casino and Bingo properties.
  • Mentors and provides technical guidance to Surveillance Technician(s); assists in specialized on-the-job training.
  • Evaluates and recommends surveillance technology, products, and equipment upgrades.
  • Collaborates with vendors for technical solutions, installations and maintenance; tests and verifies new systems and/or upgrades.
  • Conducts periodic system audits, performance checks, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Assists in preparing technical documentation, diagrams, and configuration guides.
  • Provides technical support during unusual or emergency incidents; escalates issues to the Surveillance Technician Supervisor, Senior Surveillance Manager, and Surveillance Director.
  • Supports Surveillance Technician(s) in monitoring and troubleshooting CCTV feeds and related electronic equipment.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of surveillance technologies, gaming practices, and emerging threats.
  • Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
  • EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION

    Required:

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    • Five (5) years’ experience installing, repairing and maintaining CCTV systems, servers, and networking equipment.
    • Networking fundamentals experience and server administration.
    • Advanced troubleshooting experience with video management systems.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Surveillance Technician within a gaming environment.

    Special Requirements:

    • Incumbents must be able to pass a background investigation.
    • Meet the criteria for a gaming license.
    • Pass a pre-employment drug test.

    Preferred:

    • AA degree in Electronics, Networking, Computer Science or related field.

    • Video Management Systems and digital/IP CCTV
    • Gaming practices, procedures, and security risks
    • Preventative maintenance, system optimization, and troubleshooting methodologies

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this class/job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, crawl, kneel, crouch, twist, push/pull and grasp; use hands to operate, finger repetitively, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds. Employee has occasional exposure to possible electrical shock. The employee must be able to climb tall ladders, enter and exit crawl spaces and access ceilings and rooftops while performing portions of the job.  Portions of this job will be performed in a smoke-filled environment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    Licenses or Certifications Required

    A current and valid Washington State drivers License is required at the time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe.
