The MTNA Anderson plant is searching for a Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of maintenance operations, including equipment maintenance, automation systems, mold maintenance, and facility upkeep. This role ensures operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and a safe working environment to support production and company objectives.
Maintenance Operations
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance activities for all production equipment, utilities, and support systems.
- Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Ensure timely and effective response to equipment breakdowns or failures.
- Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of PLCs, robots, sensors, conveyors, and other automated systems.
- Collaborate with automation and engineering teams to implement improvements and upgrades.
- Ensure proper documentation and support for controls and automation systems.
- Promote controlling quality into a process with the use of automation equipment (vision detection, sensors etc..)
- Oversee mold maintenance and repair activities, ensuring mold availability, cleanliness, and performance.
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules for injection molds or other tooling systems.
- Work closely with production and quality teams to resolve mold-related issues quickly.
- Ensure the physical plant including building infrastructure, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, and fire protection systems.
- Manage facility improvement projects and contractors/vendors performing facility-related work.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and internal standards.
- Manage vendor contracts as necessary.
- Supervise and develop a team of maintenance technicians, electricians, and mold technicians.
- Conduct performance reviews and enforce safety and quality standards.
- Provide a training system for each group that would promote internal growth and development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Manage department budgets including labor, materials, and capital projects.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement of supplies and services.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and internal safety and environmental requirements.
- Lead safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations related to maintenance and facility operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5 years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in automation systems, mold/tooling maintenance, and facility management.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with injection molding or die tooling preferred.
- Proficient in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (OSHA, NFPA, EPA, etc.).
- Primarily on the manufacturing floor with some office work.
- May require occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, and work in varying temperatures.
- Available for emergency response or after-hours support as needed.
- CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional)
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification
