Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sandblaster to join our production team. You will play a vital role in the manufacturing process by preparing trailer frames and components for finishing. Your work ensures that our trailers have the high-quality surface prep needed for long-lasting durability.
Key Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Remove dirt, mill scale, rust, welding slag, and grease from steel surfaces using high-pressure sandblasting equipment.
- Equipment Operation: Set up and operate blast booth equipment; load and unload blast pots and monitor abrasive media levels.
- Production Support: Assist with painting or prepping tasks as needed to keep the production line moving.
- Safety & PPE: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and wear all required protective gear, including air-supplied hoods and blast suits.
- Material Handling: Use fork trucks or overhead cranes to move heavy trailer frames into the blast bay safely.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Experience: Previous sandblasting experience or training is required. Experience working with or removing heavy metals is a plus.
- Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with power tools and mechanical equipment.
- Licensing: Fork truck driving experience is required.
- Language: Bilingual skills are a plus.
