Position Overview
The MTI Motion LLC Muskego location has partnered with the State of WI Department of Workforce Development to begin a Registered Apprenticeship Program. During the 4-year period, the apprentice machinist will follow a regimented training schedule where the necessary skills and abilities are taught by other skilled employees across a wide variety of processes including manual and CNC machining operations.
In conjunction with the on-the-job training, the apprentice will also be attending a technical college for related classroom instruction 1 day per week during the first 2 years of the apprenticeship. Upon the successful completion of schooling, and all aspects of the registered apprenticeship program provisions, the individual will achieve Journeyman CNC Machinist status and remain employed with MTI in a highly skilled role creating specialized products for our customers.

Essential Apprentice Functions
- Retrieve job related information: routing, drawing, program, inspection sheets, etc.
- Review raw material for dimensions, quantity, defects, maintain heat lot traceability
- Perform all change-over related activities through first piece inspection, edits-offsets
- Utilize precision tools and gages to measure part features / dimensions and document results according to in-process quality inspection requirements and AQL sampling intervals.
- Learn to detect and troubleshoot machining and programming issues as they occur
- Operate secondary equipment to finish and clean parts for subsequent operations
- Maintain high level of awareness and attention to detail to achieve quality and production results
- Utilize PC or Laptop to record labor and production information
- Follows prescribed safety rules and procedures for all work
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and keep work area in a clean orderly condition.
- Various other duties as required
