POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced IT Support & Low Voltage Cabling Project Manager to lead our low voltage installations and help oversee the day-to-day delivery of IT support services to our clients. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will run projects from site survey through final walkthrough, coordinate technicians and subcontractors, and act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout each engagement. You will also work closely with our service desk and field teams to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent service quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, schedule, and manage low voltage cabling projects, including structured data/voice (Cat6/6A), fiber optic, coaxial, access control, surveillance, and AV cabling, from initial site survey through closeout
- Develop project scopes, materials lists, labor estimates, and timelines; track budgets and report on profitability
- Coordinate in-house technicians, low voltage installers, and subcontractors across multi-site or multi-phase projects
- Serve as the primary client contact during projects, running kickoff meetings, providing status updates, and managing change orders
- Oversee day-to-day IT support delivery in partnership with the service desk, including ticket escalations, SLA performance, and on-call coverage
- Ensure all installations meet TIA/EIA-568 standards, BICSI best practices, NEC Article 725/800 requirements, and applicable local codes
- Review and approve as-built drawings, labeling schemes, and test results (Fluke certifications, OTDR reports)
- Coordinate with general contractors, electricians, and other trades on construction and build-out projects
- Pull, secure, and obtain low voltage permits where required, and ensure inspections pass on the first visit
- Participate in pre-sales scoping, site walks, and proposal development as needed
- Mentor field technicians and identify opportunities for process and service improvements
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years managing IT projects, low voltage installations, or structured cabling builds
- Working knowledge of low voltage systems, including evaluating upcoming projects, designing and implementing structured cabling needs (TIA/EIA-568), copper and fiber termination, testing, and certification. Proper installations of IT Electronics, Wireless AP, VoIP, PtP, cabling
- Familiarity with adjacent low voltage disciplines, such as access control, IP surveillance, AV, and/or paging/intercom
- Experience leading technicians, installers, or service teams
- Strong client-facing communication skills, comfortable in boardrooms and on job sites
- Proficient with project management and ticketing tools
- Ability to read construction drawings and coordinate with other trades
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Willingness to travel to client sites throughout the region
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- BICSI certifications (Installer 2, Technician, or RCDD)
- PA low voltage licensing or familiarity with municipal permitting requirements
- PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification
- Background in an MSP or systems integrator environment
- Manufacturer certifications in access control or surveillance platforms (e.g., AiPhone, Hanwha, Leviton, Hikvision, and various other IT and AV industry standard manufacturers)
SCHEDULE
Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends required for project cutovers and client deadlines.
