REGISTRAR
JOB SUMMARY
The Registrar, in accordance with Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital's Vision, Mission and Values, creates and updates patient records, pre-registers and registers patients presenting for services in the Outpatient Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
- Primary duties involve initial patient intake, new and follow-up appointment scheduling, patient registration, and other related functions.
- These duties are performed accurately and consistently, while maintaining an extremely high level of customer friendly satisfaction.
- Facilitates patient flow, including activities such as: patient identification, identification of accurate demographic and insurance information.
- Collection of required signatures and documents.
- Collects co-payments and other patient liabilities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred
Licensure, Certification and Registration
None
Work Orientation and Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year Outpatient Experience required.
- Physician Office experience preferred.
- Hospital registration experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team and health system.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Detail oriented.
- Organization and time management skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Walk, stand, reach, stoop, bend, sit and demonstrate manual dexterity.
- Experience with Meditech, Epic and Phreesia platforms preferred.

Supervision Received
- Reports directly to Director of Outpatient Services

- None
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Regular, direct contact with patients, caregivers, outpatient physicians and staff. And ancillary support staff.
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED
Uses computer hardware and software, phones, fax and copy machines.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS
Occasionally subjected to irregular hours. Occasional stress due to the emergency situations or multiple demands
