ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TECHNICIAN - PER DIEM JOB SUMMARY- ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TECHNICIAN•    Under the Environmental Services Manager or Supervisors' supervision, the Environmental Services Technician will perform various patient restocking, housekeeping, laundry, and minor maintenance duties to maintain the hospital in a clean, sanitary, and attractive condition. Some assignments will require the operation of large floor equipment and laundry equipment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION•    Responsible for daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment as assigned, and other common areas of assignment•    Removes waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste stream handling (i.e., regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous). •    Maintains cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment•    Follows infection prevention practices (i.e., proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as appropriate donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)•    Demonstrates the ability to operate and adequately maintain all EVS tools and equipment needed to clean and disinfect the environment•    Demonstrates the ability to operate and adequately maintain all Laundry tools and equipment needed to sanitize facility linen and patient clothing.•    Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and policy requirements, including JCAHO, CARF, ADA, and OSHA.POSITION REQUIREMENTSEducational Requirements•    High School Diploma/Equivalent Preferred.Licensure, Certification, and RegistrationCertified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) desired/preferredCertificate in Non-acute Care Cleaning (CNACC) desired/preferred•    Preferred-1 year of housekeeping and or Laundry experience in a healthcare environment•    Ability to read, write, add and subtract.•    Ability to follow oral and written instructions.•    Must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their use or ability to be trained.•    Ability to operate small electrical equipment (vacuums, etc.)•    Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods.•    Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch for prolonged periods.•    Ability to lift and move equipment up to Fifty (50) pounds.•    Ability to work cooperatively around patients and other staff members.•    Ability to maintain flexibility in work assignments and schedule.•    Specific assignments require knowledge of and ability to operate heavy equipment.•    Ability to operate commercial and residential laundry equipment.
