Kindergarten Instructional Assistant (2025-2026) - Mt. Washington Elementary

This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.

As an Instructional Assistant, you will work under the direction of the classroom teacher to ensure the successful implementation of the Kindergarten curriculum.

• Instruction: Lead both whole-group and small-group lessons.
• Support: Assist with lesson planning, classroom preparation, and daily operations.
• Environment: Support a diverse range of learners, including children with learning difficulties or behaviors of concern.

Schedule & Contract

• Hours: 6.25 hours per day
• Calendar: 183 days per year
• Includes: 170 instructional days, 7 planning days, 4 holidays, and 2 extended days.
• Note: Contracted days will be adjusted based on your official start date.

Compensation & Pay Structure

We offer a competitive hourly rate with the stability of a year-long contracted salary.

• Starting Pay (Step 0): $15.98 per hour
• Experienced Pay (Step 10): $19.67 per hour
• New employees may transfer up to 10 years of verified, full-time comparable experience.

How Pay Works: Although this is an hourly position, your salary is distributed across a 10-month pay schedule. At the end of June, you will receive 4 paychecks to cover the summer period.

 

 

Requirements

 

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet one of the following:

• 48 college semester hours OR
• An Associate’s Degree OR
• High School Diploma PLUS a passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment Exam.
• Verification documents must be provided to HR upon recommendation for hire.
