This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.
NOTICE OF POSSIBLE WAIVER: To expedite the hiring for this position, the hiring supervisor may apply for a waiver of the 15 day posting period to prevent disruption of necessary instructional or support services.
MES is searching for a highly motivated and positive team member to assist certified teachers in providing instruction to groups of students, monitor and report student progress, and enhance overall student performance. Experience working with students, intervention systems, and small groups are strongly desired.
This position is 2 hours per day and 179 days per year
170 student instructional days, 2 extended days and 7 Bullitt/planning days
Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.
This position is part time and not eligible for benefits unless combined with another position.
- Must have 48 semester hours, an Associates Degree or have a high school diploma and have passed the paraeducator assessment exam. Must provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.
New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE: It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)
