Position Summary
The receptionist is responsible for a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks to assist our clinical providers. The receptionist provides support by being the face of the clinic offering excellent customer service, patient registration, and scheduling. The receptionist ensures smooth operation of the clinic by facilitating a quick check-in, check-out, and payment process for patients and their families.
Position Qualifications
-At least 18 years old.
-Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
-Reliable transportation.
Compensation
Compensation for this role is based on the level of experience in either customer service or medical office roles, but typically ranges from $18/hour to $23/hour as a new hire.
Essential Functions
Reception
-Treat all patients and their families in a friendly and polite manner in all interactions.
-Answer incoming phone calls, faxes, emails, and patient portal requests.
-Register new patients with the clinic and accurately record their information in the designated HER system.
-Prep daily paperwork and charts to track patient appointments and ensure valid insurance, copay, and balance information is correct.
-Collect payment via various methods and accurately record the receipts.
-Scan, Copy and Print patient documentation.
Clinic Operations
-Manage patient care and patient flow at the front desk.
-Handle multiple phone lines, emails and fax correspondence with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Be the external facing representation of the clinic to patients, guests and vendors who are present in the clinic.
-May be required to travel to other sites or departments for coverage as needed.
-Perform other administrative or clerical duties as assigned.
Compliance
-Accurately perform quality controls.
-Utilize principles of safety and infection control, including universal precautions.
-Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
-Meets standards of medical record audit for documenting medical history according to Policies and Procedures.
-Participate in organizational quality improvement guidelines and pertinent government regulations including OSHA and CLIA.
-Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to hiring, termination, pay, etc.
Team Duties
-Prepare for, attend, and participate in team meetings and huddles.
-Collaborate in developing team priorities and patient goals/care plans.
-Work with clinic team to meet client performance targets and metrics for clinic services.
-Must be able to work flexible hours with shifts.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

-Intermediate computer skills preferred.
Physical Demands
-Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
-Requires standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time.
-Occasionally lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
