What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Educator (Elementary Level) position at Mt. Mansfield UUSD?
Mount Mansfield Unified Union School District is seeking an energetic special educator with a love for working with elementary students to work at Brewster-Pierce Memorial School. The successful candidate should have a strong background in elementary special education strategies and enjoy working as part of a creative hard-working team. Strengths must include the ability to build and foster positive rapport with students and families, effective communication, curriculum modification, as well as comfort with special education rules and regulations. The ideal candidate must have a strong knowledge of best practices when providing individualized and group instruction in literacy and math, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL).
Candidates should also have the following.
- Active Vermont Special Educator License
- Experience in behavioral management techniques/interventions
- Strong collaboration skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
