We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Special Education Paraeducator to provide individualized academic, behavioral, and personal care support to one or two specific students. In this role, you will help a student access their education, build life skills, and achieve independence within the classroom and community.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Support: Implement modified curriculum and assist with schoolwork under the guidance of a licensed teacher.
Behavioral & Data Support: Implement behavior plans, provide crisis intervention/physical management as needed, and track precise data for IEP goals.
Personal & Medical Care: Assist with student hygienic needs (feeding, toileting, diapering) and handle delegated medical tasks (medication administration, tube feeding, diabetes monitoring) under the direction of the school nurse.
Supervision: Accompany and support the student during class transitions, lunch, recess, field trips, and specials.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required (experience with students preferred).
Ability to remain calm, objective, and supportive in stressful or crisis situations.
Excellent communication skills and a high commitment to student confidentiality.
Strong teamwork skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
