First Aid Assistant
A First Aid Assistant must be called to the ministry of Mt. Gilead and have a strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. This role provides basic first aid to campers and staff during our summer camp programs and supports leadership in implementing safe, effective programming. Working under the supervision of the Health Care Supervisor, the First Aid Assistant helps ensure a caring and attentive environment for all participants throughout the camp week.

Are certified in CPR and First Aid, or willing to become certified
Have first aid experience or are interested in pursuing education or a future career in healthcare

Can manage a fast-paced, active schedule
Enjoy helping others and contributing to safe, meaningful camp experiences
Responsibilities:
Provide basic health screenings for campers and staff
Administer basic first aid as needed throughout the day
Assist with camper supervision when assigned
Model Christlike character through your attitudes, actions, and interactions
Follow and uphold all Mt. Gilead safety and security procedures
Maintain organized, confidential records of care and medication distribution
Communicate health concerns promptly to the Health Care Supervisor
Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk and stand for extended periods, and navigate uneven or rugged terrain. Candidates should be able to respond quickly in emergency situations and perform basic physical tasks associated with medical care in an outdoor camp environment.
Additional Notes:
Room and board is provided for this position. First Aid Assistants are expected to live onsite for the duration of their scheduled summer weeks. Staff in this role may partake in all meals provided by Mt. Gilead’s kitchen services for the duration of the summer season or their employment period, whichever is shorter.
All employees may be asked to perform other tasks that further the ministry and mission of Mt. Gilead Bible Camp.
