We are seeking a Parts Runner – Parts Specialist to support shop operations and field crews by managing parts inventory, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring equipment and job sites receive necessary parts in a timely manner.
Position Summary
The Parts Runner – Parts Specialist plays a critical role in supporting fleet and equipment operations by coordinating parts procurement, maintaining inventory, and delivering parts to job sites as needed. This position works closely with the Equipment Manager, mechanics, and field personnel to ensure equipment remains operational and projects continue without delay.
Key Responsibilities
Parts Procurement & Supplier Coordination
- Interact with suppliers on a daily basis to source and purchase necessary parts and materials
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
- Assist in identifying the correct parts needed for equipment maintenance and repair
Parts Delivery & Logistics
- Transport and deliver parts to various job sites as needed
- Ensure parts are delivered promptly to minimize equipment downtime
- Maintain clear communication with mechanics, supervisors, and field personnel regarding part availability and delivery status
Inventory Management
- Track and maintain accurate parts inventory within the shop
- Assist in organizing and maintaining parts storage areas
- Monitor stock levels and notify management when reorders are necessary
Shop Support & Maintenance
- Assist with general upkeep and organization of the shop and parts storage areas
- Support mechanics and shop personnel with parts-related needs
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned to support shop and fleet operations
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Basic mechanical or equipment knowledge preferred but not required
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry parts and materials as required
- Ability to walk, bend, and perform general shop duties
- Ability to drive to and from job sites as needed
Work Environment
This position operates primarily from the company shop but requires frequent travel to job sites and interaction with suppliers. The Parts Runner – Parts Specialist works closely with the Equipment Manager, shop mechanics, and field crews to ensure the company’s fleet and equipment remain operational and projects continue running efficiently.
