What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Mt Airy Coffee Company?
Mt Airy Coffee's prime location and position as a community hub is perfect for an individual with a deep appreciation and curiosity for coffee. The Barista creates the initial impression for each arriving guest. It is a crucial position that informs and serves guests, as well as works with other staff in the efficient preparation and presentation of menu items. The Barista is responsible for 1) beverage and food service; 2) the orderliness, organization, and supply of goods at the bar and food prep station; 3) delivery of Mt Airy Coffee’s Customer Service model; and, 4) adhering to the state and local food safety and health guidelines. Individuals fulfilling this role have a strong interest to grow in the coffee industry, and a desire to support the launch and advancement of a new coffee business in West Mt Airy. Experience in the food service industry, and our approach to Specialty Coffee is preferred, as is a pleasant outlook, a collaborative approach in the work place, the patience and fortitude to work hard, and a sense of creativity and humor. Hourly rate is $11.00/hr plus tip guarantee of $6.00/hr.
