Key Responsibilities
- Calibrate engine control systems for North American and global markets, ensuring compliance with regional regulatory requirements and performance objectives.
- Develop and execute engine calibration strategies to achieve targets related to emissions, fuel economy, power, drivability, and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD).
- Create and manage calibration plans, resource allocation, and project schedules to meet development milestones and program deadlines.
- Conduct test preparation, data acquisition, analysis, and technical reporting to support calibration development activities.
- Collaborate closely with calibration technicians and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure efficient execution of development programs.
- Perform vehicle testing and calibration development under extreme environmental conditions, including hot weather, cold weather, and high-altitude environments.
- Validate software logic, calibration values, and control system functionality through systematic verification activities.
- Complete required technical, safety, and driving training programs necessary for successful job execution.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in engine calibration and powertrain development.
- Strong understanding of internal combustion engine (ICE) fundamentals, combustion processes, and engine control systems.
- Proven experience investigating technical issues, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing effective engineering solutions.
- Excellent driving record and willingness to participate in vehicle testing activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with emissions, drivability, bench, or OBD calibration for conventional and/or hybrid powertrains.
- Knowledge of emissions and OBD regulations across North America and other global markets.
- Experience calibrating engine control systems for international markets such as Japan, Europe, China, or other regions.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Design (MBD) methodologies and calibration development processes.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C , Python, VBA, or other engineering programming languages.
- Experience using project management and calibration development tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse and global engineering environment.
