Automotive Electrical Component Design Engineer
Location: Saline, MI
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Pay Rate: $60/hour on W2 with benefits
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Electrical Component Design Engineer to support vehicle development programs involving electrical components, ECUs, and sensors. You will work with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers to develop and integrate components that meet quality, cost, performance, and schedule targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and integrate automotive electrical components, ECUs, and sensors.
- Create 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using CATIA V5.
- Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Manage component development schedules, quality, cost, and performance targets.
- Support vehicle development activities, production trials, and problem-solving.
- Prepare technical documentation and communicate project updates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline.
- 5 years of automotive/vehicle development experience.
- 4 years of hands-on CATIA V5 experience in 3D modeling and 2D drawings.
- 5 years of experience working with suppliers.
- Experience with vehicle manufacturing, production trials, project scheduling, and stakeholder coordination.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience using AI tools to improve work efficiency.
- Ability to work onsite in Saline, MI, at least 4 days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Toyota vehicle development programs.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, ECU/sensor packaging, or ADAS components.
- Experience with EMC/EMI or CAE simulation tools.
- Japanese language skills are a plus.
