Role Overview
The Power Generation Field Service Manager leads the Field Service team responsible for standby and backup power systems across South Florida. This role ensures strong technical execution, accurate job management, and excellent customer satisfaction.
You will hire, train, and develop technicians, improve workflows, provide first level technical support, and keep the team focused on safe, professional work. This position also partners closely with Sales, supports emergency response coverage, and manages both operational and financial performance.
The role supports mission-critical industries including hospitals, municipalities, first responders, industrial facilities, and commercial businesses that rely on continuous and reliable power.

Team Leadership
- Hire, train, and develop Field Service Technicians
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback
- Conduct performance reviews and support individual growth plans
- Manage conflict situations professionally in partnership with HR
- Maintain a positive, accountable, and safety-focused team culture
- Ensure all service jobs are executed correctly both technically and commercially
- Review work orders, job plans, labor hours, and materials for accuracy
- Maintain compliance with all safety training, policies, and regulatory standards
- Provide first level technical support to technicians and escalate complex issues
- Oversee special projects or high complexity jobs to ensure proper execution
- Resolve escalated customer issues and provide technical support
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industrial, municipal, and commercial clients
- Ensure clear communication during job planning, service execution, and closeout
- Advocate MSHS PPG service offerings and support customer loyalty initiatives
- Partner with Sales to support service opportunities and ensure timely job execution
- Communicate job status, upcoming opportunities, and operational blockers
- Support coordination of generator and load bank rental projects
- Manage technician schedules, job assignments, and daily dispatch
- Align technician skillsets with job requirements
- Monitor utilization, field performance, and productivity
- Maintain on call rotation and ensure after hours emergency coverage
- Improve job management workflows, documentation, and job costing
- Ensure accurate reporting, timekeeping, and job tracking
- Monitor open repairs and remove barriers that delay completion or invoicing
- Implement process improvements that increase operational efficiency and reliability
- Manage operational and capital expenditures for the Field Service team
- Track revenue goals, labor efficiency, utilization, and job profitability
- Support branch budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Five or more years of experience managing Field Service operations in power generation, engines, rotating equipment, or heavy mechanical equipment
- Experience supervising technicians who work on generators, diesel or gaseous engines, or power systems
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical service workflows, job costing, safety compliance, and field execution
- Experience working with industrial, municipal, or commercial customers
- Ability to manage scheduling, job planning, technician deployment, and workload balance
- Strong communication and problem solving ability
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
- Experience with MTU, CAT, Cummins, Kohler, Generac, or similar power generation equipment
- Bilingual Spanish
- Experience improving or implementing service processes
- Strong computer skills including MS Office and reporting tools
- Technician retention and development
- Safety performance and incident prevention
- Labor efficiency, utilization, and job profitability
- Customer satisfaction and complaint resolution
- On time completion of planned and emergency service work
- Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, and work in cramped spaces
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work irregular hours or respond to emergency calls as needed
- Local travel to customer sites
