Job Summary
The Quality & Regulatory Specialist is responsible for maintaining the quality and regulatory certifications and documentation. The role is also responsible for supporting quality audits and the overall quality control program. This role will include periodic travel (typically less than 25%).
Job Responsibilities
o Assist in ensuring compliance with local, national, and international food regulations.
o Interpret and make effective use of technical, legal, and food regulatory documents, information, and data.
o Manage product certifications (i.e. NSF Certifications, Kosher, Gluten-Free, Organic).
o Maintain and organize regulatory documentation for audits and inspections.
o Support the development of food labeling and packaging compliance.
o Inspect products according to quality and safety standards.
o Collect test data and draft quality reports.
o Identify possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.
o Monitor, evaluate, and report verification of processes and procedures, including alerting out of compliance results.
o Assist in administering the Company's Quality Program in accordance with customer and company requirements to ensure all work is conducted within established Quality guidelines, including sensory evaluation, visual inspections, supplier audits, and production verification documentation.
Requirements
o Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field.
o Experience: 3-5 years of quality and regulatory experience in the food and beverage industry. Previous experience in a food or beverage manufacturing processing environment is preferred.
o A working knowledge of FDA legislation, labeling requirements, safety regulations, foreign material prevention and detection, and third-party certifications and auditing processes.
