Job Summary
Experienced Automotive Window Tint Installer
MSD Auto Finish is seeking an experienced automotive window tint installer to join our team in McKinney, TX.
We are a premium automotive protection and restyling facility and a Ceramic Pro Elite Dealer and Inozetek Authorized Dealer. We specialize in paint protection film (PPF), ceramic coatings, window tint, color change, detailing, and automotive customization. Our shop regularly works with luxury, exotic, performance, and enthusiast vehicles.
We are looking for someone who can independently complete professional automotive tint installations from start to finish. This is not a trainee position.
Responsibilities
- Install automotive window film on sedans, coupes, SUVs and trucks
- Complete full sides and rear installations
- Install windshield tint
- Heat shrink rear windows properly
- Tint panoramic roofs and sunroofs
- Maintain clean installations with minimal contamination
- Properly prepare and protect vehicles before installation
- Use plotter/pattern software when appropriate
- Maintain efficient film usage and minimize material waste
- Keep installation areas, tools and equipment clean and organized
- Inspect completed work for quality before vehicle delivery
- Safely work around luxury, exotic and high-value vehicles
Requirements
- Previous professional automotive window tint installation experience
- Must be able to complete tint installations independently
- Strong heat-shrinking skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Consistent installation quality
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Respect for customer vehicles and shop equipment
- Valid driver’s license
Experience with PPF, vinyl/color change, detailing, paint correction, vehicle disassembly/reassembly, or other automotive services is a major plus.
Compensation
$20–$30 per hour earning potential based on experience, skills, efficiency and production.
We use a production-based compensation structure for tint work that rewards skilled and efficient installers.
Typical tint production compensation:
- Windshield — $100 Sides Rear, Sedan/Coupe — $125 Sides Rear, SUV/Truck — $150 Panoramic Roof — $100 Regular Sunroof — $50
Hourly compensation may apply to other shop work depending on experience and additional skills.
About the Opportunity
Window tint is a growing part of MSD Auto Finish. We are not looking to operate an assembly-line tint department focused only on volume. Our focus is premium workmanship, efficiency and consistent quality.
We are looking for the right installer so we can confidently expand our tint bookings and build this side of the business.
Candidates with additional automotive skills will have opportunities to assist with other production when tint work is not scheduled.
