PURPOSE:
Provide administrative support to the MS Assistance Center (MAC) providers. Perform front desk operations in a clinical setting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Computer applications skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Fluency in American Sign Language
Two (2) years of diverse clerical experience
Experience working in a school setting
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organizes, coordinates, schedules and performs a wide variety of clerical and other office functions and activities related to the operation of the Low Vision Clinic; prioritizes and schedules duties and assignments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and meet established time lines.
- Prepares, edits, and distributes Low Vision reports, forms, and documents to Low Vision parents, school districts, etc.
- Schedules and cancels appointments for Low Vision students.
- Responsible for ensuring all MSD students' eye reports are up-to-date for IEP meetings and re-evaluations.
- Maintains inventory and distributes low vision aids to school districts as prescribed to them.
- Compile and organize information; compose and respond to routine correspondence; open, sort, review and route mail.
- Operate a variety of business and office machines including calculator, computer, copiers, and communications equipment.
- Answer phones and greet visitors; take and relay messages; provide information to students, parents, faculty and District personnel; interpret, apply and explain District policies and school procedures and regulations.
- Performs such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned.
- Adheres to the Mississippi Code of Ethics.
- Maintains confidentiality and privacy of all MSDB records.

- School office terminology, practices and procedures.
