MPS Group, Inc., is seeking multiple Crane Maintenance Technician's to join our team at the Cleveland Cliffs Facility located in Middletown, OH. The Crane Maintenance Technician's will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and troubleshooting of EOT (Electric Overhead Traveling) and Mono-rail cranes. This role requires compliance with OHSA standards, incorporating reference guidelines within Cleveland Cliffs, and performing preventative maintenance. The individual will be part of a four-man crew, including a supervisor, and will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of overhead cranes and hoisting systems.

- Conducts regular inspections and troubleshooting of overhead cranes and related hoisting systems to detect malfunctions and areas needing repair.
- Repairs or replaces worn-out or broken parts and components, ensuring cranes are in optimal working condition.
- Installs, dismantles, and performs maintenance on overhead cranes and related equipment.
- Performs electrical maintenance, including checking controllers, contractors, relays, boards, and wiring.
- Inspects the structural integrity of cranes, looking for cracks in components such as handrails, cabs, girders, end trucks, and electrical boards.
- Performs hoist cable and crane wheel changes.
- Adheres to safety protocols and ensures compliance with OSHA, ANSI/ASME, CMAA, HMI, and other applicable regulations.
- Participates in monthly safety meetings and report any safety concerns.
- Maintains all company-issued equipment, vehicle, and assets in good working conditions.
- Works with the service office to schedule and complete maintenance, repairs, and inspections in a timely manner.
- Provides customers with safety notifications, maintenance recommendations, and quotations for necessary repairs.
- Operates tools, vehicles, and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Be available for on-call service rotation and occasional out-of-town travel for repairs.
- 5 years of related crane experience (2000 man-hours), including at least two years in crane field duties such as crane inspection, crane operation, heavy equipment maintenance, or engineering.
- Associate degree in industrial electrical/mechanical technology or related field. High School diploma and 2 years mechanical experience, or technical college degree in a related mechanical field, or 3 years industrial maintenance experience.
- Valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
- Valid 10-hour OSHA card.
- Able to respond to breakdowns and emergency callouts.
- Perform overhead reaching and handling heavy parts.
- Able to work off the ground, in confined spaces, and at heights.
- Physical demands include lifting, climbing, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and working at heights.
- Able to work for extended periods (up to 16 hours) in physically demanding conditions.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Climbing ladders and stairs and working in confined or elevated spaces.
