What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spacer Cell Operator position at MPP?
Job Summary:
Perform all duties for the Spacer Cell which includes operation of bandsaws, CNC lathes, tumbling equipment, and final packaging.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established safety regulations and procedures.
- Operate all equipment inside Spacer Cell as needs require.
- Advise supervisor, or Operations Facilitator of any part, equipment, and process difficulties.
- Follow all instructions as provided on process control plans and any reference documents.
- Quality checks based on assigned level of capability.
- Gauging care and verification.
- Routine cleaning, care of machines, gages, and other equipment used.
- Perform inspections for In-Process of existing and new product as required (includes destructive tests, & nondestructive tests)
- Use all available gauging to decide fit of product – will include both setup and operation of gauging
- Inform supervision of out-of –tolerance conditions
- Audit product, process and documentation at machines as required by existing control plans
- Verify setups as required
- Complete necessary records both written and electronic
- Learn new gauging/techniques as acquired
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Inspect and/or sort parts as required.
- Record keeping (SPC charts, Production reports, Product Routers, etc.)
- Follow all standard work for autonomous maintenance.
- Participates in ongoing training and continuous improvement activities.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to read and interpret a control plan / work order.
- Must be able to enter and print an NCMR.
- Setup and operate CMM as needed per the control plan.
- Use Micrometers and Specific Gaging per part / process requirements.
- Setup and operate Comparator.
- Setup and operate bandsaws and wet tumbler.
- Setup and operate CNC lathes, which includes tooling changes, setting tooling offsets, and changing jaws.
- Final packout of completed product for shipment.
Skills Executed:
Communication, multi-tasking, ability to understand and follow directions.
Education: High School Graduate / GED
Safety Requirements: When required in specific areas. This includes, but is not limited to safety glasses, with side shields, hearing protection, and gloves.
