MINIMUM ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Provide superior patient care and complete appropriate documentation in a timely fashion
- Develop patient education materials
- Maintain all continuing education requirements
- Participate in and help foster an environment of continued learning in our pursuit of clinical excellence
- Communicate appropriately with supervising physical therapist on patient’s progress on the established plan of care and goals
- Communicate appropriately with physicians and their staff on patient care issues
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations
- Maintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
- Maintain detailed knowledge of therapy documentation system and other computer software as it relates to job functions
- Maintain Physical Therapist Assistant licensure in the state of Tennessee
- Attend CPR, OSHA, and HIPAA training programs
- Attend all regular meetings
- Perform all other tasks and projects assigned by the Manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program
- Training in orthopedic care and manual therapy skills preferred
- Physical Therapist Assistant must be licensed in the state of Tennessee
- Experience in a physician office or orthopedic setting preferred (new graduates must demonstrate superior ability to perform through a relevant clinical affiliation or experience)
- Ability to manage multiple patients and administer appropriate treatments including modalities
- Extensive knowledge in exercise physiology, biomechanics, and exercise prescription
- Working knowledge of billing regulations and limitations including CPT codes and basic knowledge of insurance related restrictions
- Comfortable effectively using MS Office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
- Good communication skills and the ability to perform patient education duties
- Neat and professional appearance
