What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Houseperson (Museum) position at MPMRC?
The Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center is an exhibit and event space intended to attract a variety of public and private audiences. Customer service and satisfaction is our highest priority. Under the direction of the Manager, the incumbent provides support to set up functions and events in the food service areas and other areas as specified by Museum management. The incumbent should be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. May be asked by management to engage in duties that are related to the position even though they are not routine. These include helping assemble temporary dance floors, podiums and other structures; relaying data to outside departments; and assisting audio-visual personnel in setting up equipment like speakers and monitors. High school diploma or GED required. Previous hospitality or event setup or related experience is highly desired.
Position requires standing and walking 100% of the time. Bending, lifting and carrying supplies up to 100 pounds. With assistance, required to push or pull carts and/or furniture weighing several hundred pounds. This position requires flexibility in the work schedule which includes holidays, weekends, overtime and irregular days off.
