Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aerospace Manufacturing Quality Inspector with an emphasis on assembly inspection to join our team. As a Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the production of aerospace assemblies and components. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of aerospace components, assemblies, and part marks throughout various stages of production to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company specifications.
- Utilize a variety of inspection tools and equipment, such as precision measuring instruments, gauges, calipers, micrometers, and fastener gages.
- Perform visual inspections, dimensional measurements, and functional testing to verify the accuracy, functionality, and overall quality of aerospace products.
- Identify and document defects, discrepancies, and non-conformities, and collaborate with production teams to address and rectify issues promptly.
- Research internal and customer specifications as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, reports, and documentation, ensuring all required data is properly recorded and accessible for quality assurance audits.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to identify the underlying causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to interpret technical specifications and drawings, providing insights to improve manufacturing processes and product designs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to aerospace manufacturing and quality control.
- Assist in the development and refinement of quality control procedures, work instructions, and inspection guidelines.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by actively participating in quality meetings, training sessions, and cross-functional collaboration initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Proven experience as an Assembly Quality Inspector in the aerospace or aviation industry, with a strong track record of ensuring product quality and safety.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and inspection tools, as well as familiarity with sealants, fasteners, and installation techniques.
- Strong ability to interpret CATIA models, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional observational skills and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and reporting of inspection findings.
- Problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a proactive approach to addressing quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Familiarity with quality management software and documentation systems is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks or help in multiple areas while adhering to deadlines.
