Overview
This administrative position is the primary contact at MPI for all sales inquiries including but not limited to, new equipment inquiries, machine upgrade inquiries, initial automation inquiries, contract matters, and other customer-facing tasks as required. This position acts as the key liaison between MPI and our customers. As the frontline contact it is imperative that the Technical Sales Admin focuses on the customer’s satisfaction and timely responses to inquiries and customer needs.

Duties

  • Supports MPI lean culture and initiatives by attending and participating in daily lean meetings while supporting efforts to make continuous improvements throughout MPI.
  • Interface with customers daily via phone, email, and other means of company communication.
  • Develop relationships with customers to encourage trust and loyalty.
  • Assure customers are getting the attention they deserve and are having a positive experience.
  • Open and Close Sales Orders in the ERP (Epicor) database.
  • Create Sales Quotations and process Sales Orders in Epicor.
  • Support scheduling Customer Sales visits to MPI.
  • Lead Sales Order meetings to review orders assigned.
  • Work closely with technical sales staff and application engineers to address inquiries regarding equipment’s capabilities, suitability for customer requirements, upgrades to existing equipment, warranty matters, contracts, payment terms and other requirements.
  • Provide assistance to management and team members as needed.
  • Work with Finance to ensure sales milestone invoicing and payments are taking place and being recorded.
  • Work with Shipping department to ensure transportation of orders are processed correctly and on time.
  • Maintain customer database.
  • Enter Opportunities into database and assist with updating sales Forecasts.
  • Specify consumables and recommend spares and critical spares for machines upon request.
  • Maintain database /pricelist for standard cost, lead time and selling prices for all new equipment.
  • Provide globally responsive support via telephone and email to our customers and agents.
  • Support commission calculations of hired service agents.
  • Defuse unhappy/dissatisfied customers and seek supervisory guidance as needed.
  • Follow all Personal Protection requirements while complying with MPI and OSHA Safety guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, listening, verbal and written.

  • Positive demeanor that reflects well with customers and colleagues.
  • Must have advanced computer skills with recent experience using Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to learn and communicate regarding technical products being manufactured and sold.
  • Exceptionally good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in an environment where fine details are commonplace and vital to success.
  • Effectively defuse irate customers and maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to visualize problems.
  • Ability to deal with opportunities involving multiple variables in standardized and unique situations.
  • Team Player that is compatible in an office work environment.
  • Due to ITAR agreements with our customers, proof of US Citizenship is required.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • 5 Years Experience working in a Sales/Customer Service / Administrative environment.
  • Experience working in an ERP environment (Epicor a plus)
  • Technical knowledge / aptitude a plus.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
