The Mid-Prairie Community School District is in search of a Special Education Teacher for the 26-27 school year. We are in search of highly qualified candidates who have a passion for working with students with disabilities, value collaboration with colleagues, and a strong desire to learn and grow as an educator. Candidates should have a valid Iowa Teaching License with appropriate endorsements required for the position or the ability to acquire the appropriate licensure and endorsements. This position requires a Strategist I endorsement. This position will serve 50% of the time at East Elementary (Kalona) and 50% of the time at West Elementary (Wellman).

- Ability to create and maintain healthy relationships with students, staff, parents and community.
- Ability to provide instruction to effectively meet the needs of all students.
- Ability to effectively implement multiple teaching methods (co-teaching, small group, differentiation, etc).
- Knowledge and ability to implement the Iowa Teaching Standards.
- Knowledge of special education evidence-based practices
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to effectively use technology for instruction, communication and data management.
- Ability to effectively engage in professional growth individually and with collaborative teams.
- Ability to implement federal, state and district goals with students.
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Department of Iowa regulations.
