Located in Brooklyn, Ohio, MPC Plating was founded as a metal plating operation. Branching out into plastic plating in 1985, MPC now plates exclusively on plastics. We have one (1) immediate opening for full-time Plating Lab Technician(s) on 1st Shift: M-F 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Plating Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality of all parts produced by the automatic plating line by properly analyzing chemicals and monitoring the plating process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform wet chemistry testing to include: acid/salt titrations, pH, weights density, temperature in process.
- Enter test results in the computer and filing.
- Calibrate pH probe.
- Get wet sample for testing.
- Do inventory on chemicals.
- Label out dated chemicals.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Ability to write and read reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and/or cooperatively.
- Is dependable in attendance
- Must be able to work periodic overtime, at times on short notice with willingness to work all shifts.
- Must be able to work to work well with other associates and follow all company rules, regulations and policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of hazardous material handling, solution maintenance, basic chemistry, basic plating on plastic training, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
- Prior plating on plastics or metals experience is preferred but not required
