Mozaic (a Chapter of The Arc) is hiring for an Occupational Therapist for pediatric patients at Keuka Lake School in Bath, NY.
Occupational Therapist Duties:
As an Occupational Therapist, you assess and interpret evaluations and test results to determine occupational therapy plans in consultation with physicians. You help pediatric patients develop or regain physical or mental function and adjust to disabilities through various programs and activities. You select therapies based on physical capacity, intelligence level, and interests to maximize patient independence. You observe and evaluate pediatric patient progress, recommending and implementing adjustments as needed. You chart patient care services in records and keep patient information confidential. You ensure continuity of care by designing home exercise programs and recommending assistive equipment and follow-up care. You educate patients and families regarding therapeutic exercises, activities, and equipment. You comply with safety procedures, rules, and policies to maintain a safe and clean environment. You adhere to legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
Occupational Therapist Requirements:
- Cleared/clean NYS Occupational Therapy License must be current.
- One-year experience working with a pediatric population
- Participation in continuing education in pediatric therapy subjects as required by the OT governing authority.
- Valid NYS driver's license.
Occupational Therapist Schedule:
Scheduled Hours: to be determined on need of students (up to 3 days a week at this time)
Hours per Week: Part-Time up to 20 hours - this can increase as the school year goes on.
Salary Pay Range: $30,000 - $40,000 per year based on part-time hours
