Mozaic (A Chapter of The Arc NY) is seeking a full-time DSP Training Lead. The Direct Support Professional Training Lead is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality training programs for DSPs to ensure compliance with organizational standards, state regulations, and best practices in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role serves as a subject matter expert and mentor, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Development & Delivery
- Design and implement onboarding and ongoing training programs for DSPs, including person-centered practices, health and safety, crisis intervention, and regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate classroom, virtual, and hands-on training sessions to enhance DSP skills and knowledge.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all training meets state and federal requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate training records and monitor DSP certification status.
- Mentorship & Support
- Serve as a resource and coach for DSPs, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting challenges in the field.
- Collaborate with supervisors to identify training needs and performance gaps.
- Program Evaluation & Improvement
- Assess training effectiveness through feedback, observation, and performance metrics.
- Continuously update training materials to reflect current regulations and industry trends.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a DSP or in a similar role within IDD services.
- Prior experience in training, coaching, or staff development strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to adapt training methods to diverse learning styles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems (LMS).
