Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Support the culinary team in meal preparation by assembling ingredients and following menu plans with precision.
- Maintain safety standards in food handling, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and disposal of food items in accordance with food safety management protocols.
- Help with food service operations by setting up stations, replenishing supplies, and ensuring a smooth flow during meal times.
- Follow all safety standards in production to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for everyone.
- Collaborate with dietary department staff to support dietary aide activities and assist with catering or special meal requests as needed.
Skills
- Prior experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards in production, and food safety management practices.
- Experience in menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food service operations.
- Proficiency with knife skills, slicing techniques, and general kitchen equipment usage.
- Background in the food industry or restaurant environment that demonstrates familiarity with kitchen workflows.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
