Job Overview
Join our dynamic culinary team as a Dishwasher/Food Prep specialist, where your energy and attention to detail will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently! In this vital role, you’ll be the backbone of our food service operation, ensuring dishes are spotless, ingredients are prepped with care, and the kitchen environment remains safe and organized. Your enthusiasm for food handling and kitchen support will contribute directly to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop culinary skills, gain restaurant experience, and be part of a vibrant team dedicated to excellence. Hours will be 4pm-11;30pm Monday-Friday with an occasional Saturday. All Sundays Off.
Duties
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment quickly and thoroughly to maintain cleanliness standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients for meal service
- Support the kitchen team in meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service
- Maintain organized storage of clean dishes and ensure proper disposal of waste and recyclables
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination and ensure a hygienic environment
- Help with light catering or food service duties as needed during busy periods
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked kitchen workspace at all times
Requirements
- Prior experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments is preferred but not required—enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation procedures
- Basic culinary skills including knife handling, meal preparation, and food presentation are advantageous
- Familiarity with menu planning or cooking techniques enhances your ability to support kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant or food industry setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues in meal prep and service tasks
- Willingness to follow all safety guidelines related to food handling, cleaning procedures, and kitchen operations
