Position Summary
The Engineering Manager leads and develops the engineering function to support operational excellence, quality performance, and production efficiency. This role is responsible for setting technical direction, prioritizing high-impact initiatives, and ensuring scalable, sustainable engineering solutions across the organization.
The Engineering Manager partners closely with plant leadership to align engineering strategy with business objectives, manages and mentors a team of engineers, and contributes hands-on expertise to complex technical challenges. This role balances people leadership, project ownership, and technical problem-solving to drive measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic technical leadership to ensure achievement of quality, cost, delivery, and production goals.
- Identify, prioritize, and implement high-value engineering initiatives that drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with plant and production leadership to align engineering resources with operational priorities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team; foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Manage performance, development plans, and retention of engineering team members.
- Ensure engineering solutions are well-documented, standardized, and scalable across operations.
- Oversee creation and maintenance of SOPs, drawings, specifications, and critical engineering documentation.
- Contribute directly to complex engineering problem-solving and root cause analysis as needed.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, quality requirements, and best engineering practices.
- Support company-wide quality and reliability targets through robust engineering processes.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and influence cross-functional teams toward measurable business outcomes.
- Strong background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven experience developing, documenting, and implementing SOPs and standard work.
- Automotive or automotive remanufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 6 years of industrial manufacturing experience, including prior people leadership or engineering management experience.
- Experience managing engineering projects and driving process improvements in a production environment.
Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
