Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to lead their Central Returns Center. The ideal candidate will oversee a team of 10 employees responsible for investigating and resolving labor claims and warranty returns. Additionally, the Senior Manager will manage the receipt, sorting, grading, and storage of used turbocharger cores. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in continuous improvement, warehouse management, and automotive warranty reduction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of 10 employees, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set departmental goals, and ensure team development.
Claims and Returns Management:
- Oversee the investigation and resolution of labor claims and warranty returns, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Analyze claims data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect and analyze data related to warranty returns and labor claims to understand root causes and develop strategies to mitigate costs.
- Generate reports and present findings to senior management, providing actionable insights to inform decision-making.
Continuous Improvement Projects:
- Develop and lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing warranty costs across multiple product lines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and operational efficiencies in claims management and returns processing.
Warehouse Management:
- Oversee the logistics of receiving, sorting, grading, and storing used turbocharger cores, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to safety standards.
- Implement best practices in warehouse management to optimize space, reduce waste, and improve inventory accuracy.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with product development, quality assurance, and customer service teams to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Liaise with external vendors, partners, and stakeholders regarding warranty and returns processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in warehouse management, automotive warranty reduction, or a related area, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) in a warehouse or returns management setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data-driven decision making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate across departments.
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards and warranty processes is highly desirable.
- Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Epicor or Intellect software a plus.
